Zoo Visit

Work did a zoo day for everyone this week. I decided to take the kids and my mom this time.
The zoo was closed to the public, and just people from work had access to the entire zoo after hours.
 The kids loved the carousl.
Of course we saw animals. It had to be one of the best times to see them. So many were so active.
I also met up with Jen and her daughter.
And with so many less people at the zoo, we were able to get good pictures of the kids and some of the statues.
After I took a picture of each of the kids on the rocks, I saw the sign not to play on the rocks... Oops.
 It was a great night.
And the kids had a great time.

Preschool

My baby started preschool today.
He was super excited! Right now he is only going half days twice a week.
Until we got to the school and he found out we were leaving him. He was super sad, and cried. Which made me cry.

But by the time he got picked up he was happy. One can only hope it will be easier next time.

Jackson - Swimming Lessons

Last week Jackson finished 3 weeks of swimming lessons. Jackson has never been a fan of the water, so I hoped this would help.

These pictures were taken the last day of classes. Still doesn't care to get his hair wet. But we made progress. For sure next summer we will be working on this again.

New York City Day 4

We picked the lastest flight possible for our return home. Thinking we could get any last minute sightseeing in before we left. I really wanted to go to GMA since our hotel was right around the corner. However the aftermath from the night before left us sleeping until 2pm.

Once we finally got moving we really only had an hour to do any last minute gift shoping.  My last goal to see was gold statue at Rockfeller center where the Christmas tree goes.
We walked past Radio City Music Hall.
Crystal and James can say they have been to 30 Rock.
There it is. The gold statue where the Christmas tree goes every year.
We walked through the NBC studio gift shop. Look a chair from The Voice.
Oh how I wish we could have done the studio tour.
Guess this means we will just have to go back.

NY was amazing. Next time I want to go back during Christmas.

New York City Day 3

Morning of day 3 I had to do a site inspection of our first hotel. Pack our bags and head to our next hotel. W Times Square. This hotel was much more to Shane's liking. And in a great location.
I was obsessed with the rugs in the elevator if you can't tell. Luckily I was able to see it for each time of day.

Up next we had tickets to the 9/11 Memorial. Of course it had started raining, but that didn't stop us.
We of course saw the survivor tree, and the two water fountains dedicated to the people who died. It was so surreal to see.
Of course we saw the new Freedom Tower being built.
Amazingly Beautiful!
One of the above buildings is the headquarters for American Express (I think).
We than headed down to battery park to catch a ferry to the Statue of Liberty. That dot between the two of us is her.
New York City behind me.
The ferry ride had some great views of the city.
Above are views of NY and Holbrook NJ.
 There she is... Lady Liberty.

We went by Ellis Island, but chose not to get off of the ferry.
Once off the ferry we had our first and only celebrity sighting.
 Dr. Oz.
That night we headed out for some drinks.
Somehow Shane and James managed to get the entire bar to sing happy birthday to me at midnight. A bit embarrassing.
Me and Crystal decided we have known each other for 17 years. We tried several times to get a good picutre of both of us. I think the first shot was the best.
We made new friends from Austrila. Who kept buying me shots. And by the end of the night we looked like this. Such a great night.
