One final day...Day 5 and our Journay home..

Our last and final day in Cancun we again just hung out at the resort and enjoyed.

I took the opportunity to try parasailing. Not as exciting as I had hoped. I can check that off my bucket list.
Shane took up some beach volleyball.
He played pretty well. I have never even seen him play the game before.
That night they had a tribute to Michael Jackson for the show.

We even spotted him in the lobby.
Men!
The lovely resort we stayed at.
We found these our last night.
One last shot before heading to bed.
What a great trip.
Cheers!
We defiantly made some great memories in Cancun.

I had really hoped that we could have a uneventful return home (unlike Europe). But that didn't happen. We were about 10 minutes aways from the resort when I realized I had left my wedding ring in the room. Luckily we had a great driver that turned around for us. However by the time we got back to the room the ring was gone. Housekeeping was in the room and the ring was no where to be found. I was devastated.

We thankful made it home with no delays.

Update on the ring: After about 2 weeks of no ring and my finger feeling completly naked. I found that the jewelry company still made my orginal ring. We ended buying the same ring. I couldn't imange not having the orginal ring I had when I got married. Bad news we have to pay for it all over again.

Hidden Worlds...Day 4

Day 4 we had a day of adventure planned.
Crystal found this place called Hidden Worlds.
Our day started with a "Mayan Massage". It was a very bumpy ride to were we were going.
Ready for the adventures.
First up..Skycycling.
We took these bike things across the top of the Jungle. It was scary knowing there were real jungle animals below us.
We had a break in the Church.
Before biking back to the start.
Up next was ziplining.
What a rush!

Up next.. Zipline into a Cenote (the cave with water).
Backwards.
and forward.
We than had a chance to do Avatar.
It's a mixture of a zipline and a roller coaster.
I was never afraid to scream like a girl.
Time to rappel into the cave.

Shane got a bit nervous on this one.

Happy to have two feet on the ground.
We finished our day snorkeling in the cenote.
I am not a fan of snorkeling so I just swam while everyone else enjoyed the fish underwater.

Chichen Itza..Day 3

Day 3 we decided to do a full day (12 hours) and go see one of the new world wonders.
Chichen Itza.
Luckily the day was broken up into some other stops.
One of the first stops was at this beautiful Cenote.
The water was really that blue.
We had a chance to swim in it.
We than had a chance to stop for lunch. During lunch they had a traditional
Mayan show that we were able to enjoy.

When drove past this church that was built from stones of Chichen Itza.
Finally we made it Chichen Itza. This was our first view of the temple of Kukulkan.
Absolutely amazing. To think the pyramids in Egypt are 5 times larger than this.
Here we are inside the Ball Court.
The ball court, was built during the Maya-Toltec period, had important religious and astronomic significance: the court represents the cosmos and men are the divine forces that move the starts, symbolized by the ball. The object of the game was not to pass the ball through the rings but to move it from one side to the other without it being stopped.
The rings of the ball game, decorated with intertwined feathered serpents, marked the center of the court. It has been suggested that in the fortuitous event that the ball passed through one of the rings, the game ended and the team that had succeeded in doing so was the winner.
The slopes of the foot ways have panels decorated in elaborate bas-reliefs showing processions of ball player-warriors, seven on each side of the prominent circular central motif displaying the figure of a ball with an inscribed human skull, symbol of death.
All the personages, which could represent two teams of seven players, are richly decked out with helmets of zoomorphic figures and fine feather headdresses and ear and bar nose guards; they also wear short skirts, conch-shaped breastplates, arm protection disks, wide yoke-like belts with palms at the front, knee guards, insignias and ornaments.
This player has one knee guard on the ground, has been decapitated and from his neck spouts copious blood in the form of serpents; a plant with flowers comes out of the jaws of one of them.
In front of the Platform of the Eagles and Jaguars.
Temple of the Warriors
Here is a look of what are they are finding now.
There are many theries of what this could be. But it will only be a matter of time until we know for sure what it is.
The Observatory

An amazing day.
Once we made it back to the hotel. We had a nice dinner and headed to bed for our next exciting day.
